Our team of architects, interior designers, and handy tradespeople recently came together to complete minor renovation, and interior design of this single-fronted, early Victorian property in Cremorne. We carefully designed each room, decorating to make the most of the available natural light, then styled the property with furniture, soft furnishings, and detailing to complement the space. One of the things we always recommend with dark spaces is to consider deeper, warmer colours. Although the colours selected in this project leaned toward teal, or duck egg shades, the tones of these colours were warm and were made warmer with a selection of contrast earthy tones in the furnishings and decorations. Previous owners had built a ‘3rd room’ in the back yard, but this made the private open space claustrophobic. We reversed this by removing the room and reintroducing natural turf in the yard.
